Bob’s birthday bash was a smashing success tonight.  We did have a few loyal readers on hand to be a part of Bob’s Birthday and one lucky volunteer even paid the $52 to shake Bob’s hand himself!  Loyal Lord Legionnaire reports that the experience was “magical.”

Bob didn’t appear to get too drunk tonight, but we did get some good pictures of Bob being Bob and hope to have them posted shortly.

Happy birthday Bob.  Now get back to campaigning!

I kind of feel bad for the poor kid working for Shadegg who lost the credit card over at Obama HQ.  He;s kind of a dumb ass and should be reprimanded for poor judgment, but I’m not surprised the State Party would try to make something out of a snooze story.  Regardless of what the kid was doing over there (which sounds fairly innocent), it looks like Spin Doctor DeRose has changed her opinion on counter-intel regarding the opposite party.  What?  Democrats hypocritically crying foul you say?  Never!

Emily DeRose back on June 20th, 2008:

Emily DeRose, spokeswoman for the Arizona Democratic Party, said she doesn’t see anything undemocratic or reprehensible about the Democrats keeping tabs on their opponents. 

“Of course we keep track of what Rep. Mitchell’s opponents are saying and doing,” said DeRose. “It’s part of our due diligence as they run for office.”

According to DeRose, keeping tabs on an opponent is a legitimate part of an election fight.

“It’s a common accepted practice among campaigns,” she averred. ”We accept that it’s part of the process of running for federal office,” adding, “we’re not afraid of what our candidates have to say.”

Here’s a link to a little background on the story below, but the jest is that the Democratic Party employs an individual (still) by the name of David Judd.  David’s full-time job is to go around and tape, or should we say harrass, Republican candidates.  He lies about his occupation to gain entry and tries to intimidate candidates with his camera, and then creis “foul” when he is kicked out of private events.

Thursday night, I attended a fundraising event for Republican candidate, David Schweikert, at the Scottsdale Gun Club. It was a great event with former President of the NRA, Sandra Froman, hosting it. All who attended were privleged to meet Sandra, hear from David Schweikert and get a chance to shoot some magnificent firearms. As I stood at the front entrance welcoming supporters, a young man entered and asked what was the occassion of the event. He introduced himself as “David” to a Schweikert volunteer and myself. “David” also said that he was a member of the Scottsdale Gun Club. He asked if he could move in closer to  observe. Throughout the event, I watched him on and off and noticed that he was taking photos. I thought it was a little odd but nevertheless, went home that night wondering if he had really just happened on to the event. Once home, I made my round of the ususal blogs and read a posting by Evan Brown on AZPolicker that seemed to explain “David’s” attendance.

The next day, I went to the open house event for the David Schwiekert campaign. I informed Bill Connor and other staff of my suspicions regarding the visitation by the individual known as “David” at the Scottsdale Gun Club. Not more than five minutes after my conversation, who should walk into the campaign office than “David?!” (And I’m not talking about David Schweikert.) As he entered the office, he carried a small video camera waist-high filming as he walked through the office. He was obviously gathering information about who was present and how the office was set up and operating. By this time, Campaign Manager Bill Connor had swung into action. In fact, Connor had talked “David” into helping the Schweikert campaign volunteers stuff envelopes!

 We’ve been linked in online forums as diverse as a San Jose newspaper and as remote as a blog of some weird guy named “Koni” in Australia.   Comments are not being approved for the most part because we’re tired of hearing from Democratic dorks with boring senses of humor.

How do they even let this guy go out in public anymore???
